2017 Ford Focus

Exterior

The 2017 Ford Focus features a sleek, attention-grabbing profile giving off an appearance of constant motion. The Focus ST incorporates a piano black grille, 18-inch gray painted aluminum wheels, and center exhaust with dual bright tips.

With an outside silhouette that screams fun, the new Focus is offered in an equally playful color palette in Kona Blue, Race Red, Triple Yellow Tri-coat, Oxford White, Magnetic, Ingot Silver, Shadow Black, and Stealth Gray.

Interior

The Focus' available leather trim seating and alloy trim contribute to the luxurious options offered to make the interior more inviting. In the standard model, cloth bucket seats and two-way adjustable headrests envelop both driver and passengers in comfort. An eight-way power driver's seat comes standard on the Titanium model, while four-way adjustable first-row headrests are standard on all SE, SEL, Titanium, and Electric models.

Riders can enjoy a personalized level of climate comfort in the new Focus with dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control with individual settings to suit different passengers. Both leather and cloth options have available heated front seats with three settings as enjoyable extras.

Technology

The Focus incorporates a camera and sensors on strategic locations on the vehicle to monitor other cars and traffic to improve response times, ease driving operation, and help prevent accidents. A rearview camera comes standard with screen projection on backing up and parking, better connecting drivers to the outside world.

Ford's SYNC Enhanced Voice Recognition Communication and Entertainment System is also standard on the new Focus, featuring a 4.2 LCD display in the center stack console complete with an audio input jack.

To promote further gadget and smartphone integration the Focus also offers two standard USB ports for charging or streaming music and other audio.

Additional available options include an intelligent push-button start, allowing key-free access through a dynamic key fob kept in a pocket or bag and a push-button engine start, standard on all ST, RS, Titanium, and Electric models.

Performance

Performance and efficiency are cornerstones of the 2017 Focus design. The car's Torque Vectoring Control prompts front wheel grip for better cornering and steering in slippery terrain and roads. An available PowerShift automatic transmission merges increased fuel efficiency, cheery driving performance, and functional convenience.

The Focus' 2.0L Ti-VCT direct injection 1-4 engine is Flex Fuel Capable, offering a unique four-cylinder performance with twin camshaft timing, adjusting both exhaust and intake cams to maintain maximum engine efficiency through varying speeds and torques.

Electric power assisted steering adjusting for more precise road responses and maneuverability, an optional six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, and Active Grille Shutters are other standout performance features.

Safety

The Focus' seven standard airbags, including dual-stage front airbags, Safety Canopy side curtain airbags, front seat side airbags, and driver's knee airbag, ensure that passengers are protected throughout. All Ford model vehicles also incorporate boron steel in door interference beams to help safeguard passengers in a side-impact collision.

Further safety features include three-point safety belts, Ford's innovative Personal Safety System to protect in the event of an accident, AdvanceTrac with Electronic Stability Control, and child-safety rear door locks.
