Ford Homelink

These days you need another remote control in your life as much as you want a root canal, but thanks to the homelink system in your Ford vehicle an extra remote will not be a problem. Programming your homelink system is simple and I’m going to show you how.

First turn on your car and hold your remote up to the homelink buttons. Press and hold the transmitter button and the button on the homelink panel you’ll want to use to open your garage door. Keep holding the buttons until the indicator light changes from a slow blink to a fast one. Next press and hold the button that you’ll use to control your garage door for five seconds and then release it. Your garage door should open but if it doesn’t repeat the five-second hold. If the indicator light is still on then you’ve successfully programmed your homelink system. I knew you could do it. Now go ahead and open and close that garage door to heart’s delight. However if your light flashes rapidly and then turns to a constant light, you’re not done yet and we’ll have to take a few extra steps but you got this. Don’t worry I’ll be with you every step of the way, but we need to move fast because the clock is ticking, literally. We have 30 seconds to complete this next step.

First, press and hold the “learn” button on your garage door motor. Then get back in your vehicle and press the selected homelink button for two seconds and release it. Do this again. When the light goes from flashing slowly to rapidly it means you’re signal has been accepted and you may now put away that remote because you are done. Of course, if you have any other remote controlled systems like exterior or interior lighting, an electronic gate, a laser defense grid or anything similar, your homelink system has two additional buttons so go crazy! If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll be happy to talk you through the process.
