F-150 Diesel Engine

It’s here. Now. The Ford F-150 Diesel. The Ford F-150 engines have been high performers, always pushing the next generation to outperform the last. From the 3.5 EcoBoost, the 2.7L EcoBoost, the 5.0L TI-VCT VI, to the Raptor DOHC 24-Valve, High-Output 3.5L Ecoboost, and now to the 3.0L Power Stroke Turbo Diesel V6, Ford has outdone itself. More strength. Lighter weight. Technologically smart. It’s what you have been waiting for.

Ford released the specs for its new F-150 diesel in early January, and now the vehicle is ready to be driven by all anticipating motorists who love their pickup trucks.

The New Diesel Engine: Powerful. Durable. Efficient.

The 2018 Ford F-150 is its most advanced engine to date. It is designed to deliver exceptional power, durability, while also targeting 30 mpg on the highway per an EPA estimate rating. If you frequently use a truck to tow or haul, this truck may be for you. It has been rated to deliver:

  • Best-in-class towing capacity at 11,400 pounds
  • Best-in-class payload capacity at 2,020 pounds
  • Diesel 250 horsepower at 3250 RPM
  • 440 lb.-ft. of torque at 1750 RPM

As it is now, the 3.0L Power Stroke Turbo Diesel V6 outranks the competition in payload, horsepower, and torque. To top it off: it excels in exceptional fuel economy unlike any other pick-up truck in its class.

F-150 Engine Specs & Options

With the new 3.0L Power Stroke Turbo Diesel, customers still benefit from auto start-stop technology and the exclusive 10-speed automatic transmission. The auto start-stop technology allows the engine to shut off when you come to a stop and restarts when the brake is released. Designed specifically for truck applications, this feature de-activates when the truck is used for towing a trailer or the like. The 10-speed automatic transmission is made to enhance acceleration. Other high tech and safety features — like SYNC 3 with FordPass system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a series of segment-first safety features — empower this truck all the more.
